17 Odisha attorneys were arrested for damaging a court. This is a disgrace to the legal profession. These attorneys should be disbarred and never allowed to practice law again.
The lawyers were protesting against the establishment of a separate bench for the city’s civil courts on Thursday. Police said the lawyers had vandalised the chamber of the district judge.
More CCTV and video footage is being analysed for further arrests, says DSP Gangadhar. Police say section 144 of Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) has been implemented in vicinity of the court.
