45 bodies are being returned by IAF planes from Kuwait; one injured Indian dies.

Even as the number of Indians who lost their lives increased after one of the injured in the hospital passed away, an Indian Air Force (IAF) aircraft was returning the bodies of forty-five Indian nationals who perished in a horrific fire in Kuwait.

Early on Friday morning, the C-130J Hercules aircraft took off from Kuwait. It is anticipated that it would land in Kochi, Kerala, at approximately 11 a.m., and then continue on to New Delhi. Before the plane continues its flight to the nation’s capital, the bodies of the twenty-three Keralan victims will be given to Kochi authorities.

Kirti Vardhan Singh, the state minister for external affairs, is flying back aboard the Indian Air Force aircraft. She was dispatched to Kuwait to supervise relief efforts and enable the prompt return of remains.

According to Kuwait’s foreign minister Abdullah Ali Al-Yahya, one of the injured passed away over night, bringing the death toll to 50. According to people with knowledge of the situation, the injured victim passed away, bringing the total number of Indian fatalities to 46. Three Filipinos were also murdered in the fire, while one person’s body is yet unidentified.

196 foreign workers were lodged in a building in Mangaf, southern Kuwait, when the fire started early on Wednesday. Of them, 33 were receiving treatment in other hospitals, and 176 were citizens of India. the Indian embassy in Kuwait said in a statement.

Twelve states were home to the 45 deceased Indians, with Kerala having the greatest number at 23. The remaining individuals were from the following states: Bihar, Haryana, Jharkhand, Maharashtra, Punjab, Karnataka, West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, and seven more from each of these states.

According to the Kuwait Times newspaper, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the Amir of Kuwait, has mandated financial assistance for the relatives of the fire victims.

According to an official statement, Kuwait’s public prosecutor on Thursday ordered the imprisonment of two expats and a Kuwaiti national on allegations of unlawful harm and manslaughter. Late on Wednesday, representatives of the prosecution paid visits to injured patients at several hospitals in order to obtain statements.

Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah, the interior minister and deputy prime minister of Kuwait, announced that the ministry will set up a hotline so that anyone can report safety violations in buildings to the relevant authorities. This will enable authorities to act without delay. According to him, inspections will go on to make sure that all infractions are dealt with and safety regulations are followed to avert similar mishaps.
