Voting for Modi are people from every caste and class: Amit Shah

Published

on

According to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its allies would win more than 400 seats in the current elections as people from a wide range of demographics are putting their trust in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.

People from all social classes and castes are voting for Modi, to the extent that even party loyalists are certain he will serve a third term as prime minister. In an interview, Shah stated

According to him, the BJP will keep the majority of its current seats and gain more in hitherto untapped areas.

“We are going to perform incredibly well in Odisha and West Bengal. We will have between 24 and 30 seats in West Bengal. We will win more than 17 of the 21 Lok Sabha seats and establish the government in Odisha (the state’s assembly elections are taking place concurrently),” said Shah. Furthermore, he said, the BJP would have the most seats in all of South India.

Concerns about a little lower turnout this time around, according to the minister, were exaggerated.

“After the first round of voting, I was concerned about the turnout numbers, but when the third round of voting started, I saw that the people from the opposition were not participating. They think it would be preferable to stay indoors during the sweltering summer months rather than venture outside to cast their ballots, and they are quite disheartened that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has already won.”

However, this is bad for democracy. They ought to have voted as well, but turnout has decreased as a result of the general dissatisfaction with the voters in the INDIA bloc. West Bengal, Assam, and Tripura are among the states with high voting percentages this time around. However, voter participation has always been strong in these states as well. Analyses will reveal a relationship between this decline and regions in which the Congress has historically enjoyed support.

The home minister stated that the tremendous attendance in the Kashmir valley was promising in this regard and that he had received positive response from grassroots activists all over the nation. “I never have a demonstration without meeting with 40–50 of our employees to talk about the issues at hand. Their comments indicate that there is no need for concern.

The minister said, “This is just wordplay,” when asked if the election was effectively a vote on Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Candidates for the position of prime minister have been decided upon by both parties. There has only been projection of Rahul-ji (on the opposite side); Mallikarjun Kharge-ji has not been mentioned. Under Modi-ji’s direction, we are running for elections, and he will make his third term as prime minister.

When asked how much of an impact problems like unemployment and inflation would have, Shah responded that they were discussed during the previous election as well, but that it did not harm the BJP’s chances of winning because people know how much the Modi government has accomplished in terms of job creation.

Claims that opposition figures appear to be shielded from Enforcement Directorate (ED) action if they join the BJP and are then not subject to searches or summonses were dismissed by Shah.

They have completed the stage of raid and summons. Charge sheets are in the file. After this, the agency is powerless. He said, “The court must make the decision. Shah stated that the following action “will happen (in court) when their turn comes.”

“Is Sam Konstas Virat Kohli’s father?” is a widely circulated, modified wiki allegation that angers supporters following an on-field altercation.

As Virat Kohli faces scrutiny after a shoulder bump with debutant Sam Konstas, an Australian writer’s X post has left fans angry.

After Indian cricketer Virat Kohli is making headlines again after video footage showed him intentionally bump into Australia’s 19-year-old debutant, Sam Konstas on the field during India’s fourth Test match against the Aussies. The two cricketers also engaged in a verbal altercation after the collision.

In a interview, Konstas revealed that he didn’t realise what happened as he was just taking care of his gloves after the end of the over. “I think emotions got to both of us. I didn’t realise. I was just doing my gloves when I got the little shoulder charge but it happens in cricket,” he told Channel 7.

Australian writer draws heat
Australian journalist and cricketer writer Peter Lalor joined in the conversation around the clash and shared a screenshot of what appears to be an edited Wikipedia entry for Sam Konstas. The image shows that the 19-year-old cricketer’s Wikipedia bio reads: “He is also the father of Virat Kholi.”

“Oh this is a bit mischievous. Konstas father of Kohli,” the journalist wrote.

HT.com checked the Australian batsman’s Wikipedia page but found no such entry. The image was either edited or the addition has since been removed. The post drew sharp reactions as users slammed Lalor for sharing

“Seriously Peter? Laughing on a silly Wikipedia edit by some random fan. This is embarrassing. You’re a journalist. Behave like one,” said one user. “And I though you were a grown man,” said another user.

Other fans took a less dignified approach and shared edited versions of Wikipedia entries for Lalor and Australia to mock the writer.

On-field clash sparks meme fest
The video of the exchange has sparked a meme fest on social media with some criticising Kohli for his aggressive stance while other defending him for hitting back at the Australian team which is known for frequent sledging on the field. Here are some of the reactions:

Can Kohli be banned for confrontation?
Match referee Andy Pycroft will assess the incident between Kohli and Konstas to determine if the Code of Conduct was breached. According to the ICC’s Code of Conduct, “any form of inappropriate physical contact is prohibited in cricket.”

If Pycroft determines that the shoulder bump was as a Level Two offence, either Kohli or Konstas could face accumulation of four demerit points which would trigger a suspension. This could rule the cricketer out of the next test match. A Level One offence, however, would likely result in a match fee fine, with no further repercussions.

The ‘ugly Christmas jumper’ that Katrina Kaif wore to her family vacation with Vicky Kaushal is actually rather adorable; it costs 38K.

Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal believe in embracing #CoupleCore aesthetic. The Bollywood couple gets twinning right with bright and merry Christmas sweaters.

Christmas 2024 | The goal for Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal’s matching red and blue outfits was simple: look festive and appropriately attired without trying too hard (while still looking cute). Also, let’s get one thing straight: nobody actually looks ugly in the so-called ‘ugly Christmas sweater’. Katrina and Vicky twin in ‘ugly Christmas sweaters’
Katrina Kaif added some serious Christmas cheer to her holiday pictures, which featured not only Vicky but also her sisters, including actor Isabelle Kaif. Katrina and her siblings’ red and black sweaters were merry, bright, and decidedly cool.

Even Vicky, who joined Katrina on a family holiday abroad, did not want to be caught wearing something neutral and got into the holiday spirit with a blue not-ugly-at-all ‘ugly Christmas sweater’. His blue sweater, with a dash of red and white, looks comfortable, cosy, and not too ostentatious; it’s perfect for getting one into the holiday spirit.

How much does Katrina’s sweater cost
Katrina’s red Christmas sweater will make you smile and is perfect for a family gathering around Christmas. From the Norway-based label, We Norwegians, it sells for $450 on their website, which is approximately ₹38,378. The sweater with oversized, boxy fit is the brand’s take on the traditional Norwegian knits, and is made using merino/cashmere yarn from Linisieme.

It features a roll-neck collar and is perfect for wearing with a pair of high-rise jeans or ski pants for a relaxed and chic winter look. Plus it’s slightly cropped, which makes it great to pair with a high-waisted skirt as well.

Katrina’s We Norwegians sweater comes in a couple of different colours, but red and white are always a good idea on Christmas. As far as holiday sweaters go, this is cute, not cringe-worthy. This is one of those sweaters we wouldn’t mind wearing to an ‘ugly Christmas sweater’ party. It also makes for a funny gift if you know someone that’s obsessed with ‘ugly Christmas sweaters’.
