After the Rafah tragedy, Nikki Haley came under fire for writing “finish them” on an Israeli shell and “deport her back to India”
Nikki Haley, a former contender for the US presidency, is coming under fire for writing “Finish Them” on an Israeli shell while touring locations close to Lebanon’s northern border.
An incensed social media user posted, “I support DEPORTING NIKKI HALEY to her ancestral homeland of India,” following the global success of her statement on an Israeli IDF bomb.
Danny Danon, a former UN ambassador and member of the Israeli Knesset who went with Haley on the visit, shared a photo of her on X that showed her kneeling and writing with a purple pen on a shell.
Danon wrote, “‘Finish Them.’” in her post. My buddy, the former ambassador Nikki Haley, wrote this, and it included the contentious photo.
Her speech has drawn criticism for being inflammatory and inconsiderate, especially in light of the ongoing genocide in Rafah and its effects on people. Social media is rife with complaints about Haley’s behaviour:
One X user said, “Shame on her existence, she is evil!”
“In the end, these missiles are going to be deployed to kill children and innocent bystanders. A third person said, “This is terrorism.”
The White House has declared that President Joe Biden does not intend to alter his Israel policy, despite the ongoing protests. Despite a tragic attack on Rafah over the weekend, he made it clear that he is not disregarding the pain of Palestinian residents.
Haley, who withdrew her quest for the presidency in March following a string of losses to Trump in Republican primary contests, announced her plan to support him lately. She is still a viable candidate for president in 2028, despite Trump ruling her out as a vice presidential candidate.
Following Hamas’s October 7 onslaught on southern Israel, which claimed 1,189 lives, the majority of them civilians, Israeli officials said that the Gaza battle intensified. In addition, 252 captives were taken by terrorists; 121 of them are still in Gaza, including 37 who the Israeli army claims are dead. The health ministry of Gaza reports that at least 36,096 individuals have died as a result of Israel’s retaliatory strikes, the majority of them were civilians.

Hitting a rough note
The #ShameOnMTVHUSTLE trend surfaced on Monday with several users coming together to support comedian Rohan Cariappa. It all started when Rohan took to his Instagram Stories to claim that his YouTube channel was getting shut.
“50 plus strikes,” he wrote in one story along with a screen recording of the strikes on his videos about the show. In another story, he wrote, “The channel shuts down on the 7th … Killswitch aur Danish ke baad mera bhi elimination ho raha hai (I have been eliminated after Killswitch and Danish).” Danish and Killswitch were contestants of the show.
It is being said that Rohan criticised the show through his videos.
Outrage on social media
After his posts on Instagram, a controversy erupted on social media, with the hashtag #ShameOnMTVHUSTLE gaining momentum. The outrage stemmed from allegations that MTV shut down the YouTube channel of a comedian over a joke made about the show.
Fans and supporters of the comedian have taken to social media to express their discontent, with many calling out MTV for its alleged actions.
“MTV has given more than 50 strikes to Rohan Cariappa’s YouTube channel and his channel is being terminated – just because the makers couldn’t handle some honest criticism! Shame on MTV,” read one tweet, with another writing, “MTV Hustle tried to take down Rohan Cariappa’s YouTube channel. These companies profit from the culture and then start thinking of themselves as superior. Rohan’s contribution to the Desi Hip-Hop is far greater than that of these money makers”.
One user wrote, “Whole dhh community stands with @cariappa_rohan We won’t let that fake show destroy Dhh #shameonmtvhustle”.

This will not be tolerated”, with one user mentioning, “@cariappa_rohan’s videos ASAP! #ShameonMTVHustle This is so sad #ShameonMTVHustle They don’t even know how much his channel has contributed to the hip-hop scene in India”.
There was one comment which condemned the gesture of silencing the “criticism by undermining them will only result in more harm for your show”. “The DHH community deserves better, @cariappa_rohan you deserve better. Silent protest,” read the tweet.
“Stupid of these @MTVIndia pple to think they could just suppress anyone says something & they think they can capture the DHH audience this way? Shameful and stupid act,” shared one user.
Another user called out the channel, writing, “I’m a regular Jio cinema/MTV hustle subscriber and viewer, but after seeing them pulling this shit to a content creator I have decided to cancel my subscription, they have proven that they are culture vultures who are only here for profits. MTV Hustle gave a copyright strikes on @cariappa_rohan,This is unacceptable, shameful and against the DHH community”.

Mohanlal praises Prithviraj Sukumar’s “creativity” as he concludes filming for L2 Empuraan.
Mohanlal wraps up shooting for L2 Empuraan; lauds Prithviraj Sukumar’s ‘creativity’
Mohanlal has reprised his role for the sequel of Prithviraj Sukumaran’s hit 2019 film Lucifer. The film will be released theatrically in 2025.
Prithviraj Sukumaran and Mohanlal wrapped up shooting for their next film together, L2: Empuraan. This is the third time Prithviraj has directed the actor, after the 2019 film Lucifer and the 2022 film Bro Daddy. Mohanlal on L2: Empuraan
After wrapping up shooting for the sequel of Lucifer, Prithviraj wrote on X (formerly Twitter), “At 5:35 am today, by the banks of the Malampuzha reservoir, we canned the final shot of #L2E #EMPURAAN See you in theatres in 117 days!” Mohanlal also penned a long note on X, thanking the film’s team.
A portion of his note reads, “What an incredible 14-month journey across 8 states and 4 countries, including the UK, USA, and UAE. This film owes its magic to the brilliant direction of Prithviraj Sukumaran whose creativity elevates every frame.” He also added, “L2: Empuraan has been a remarkable chapter in my journey as an artist, one I’ll always treasure.”
He also thanked the audience for their ‘love and support’ in ‘every step of the way’.
About L2: Empuraan
Talking about L2: Empuraan with the press, Mohanlal had called the film ‘brilliant’. Talking to Hindustan Times before the release of Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire, Prithviraj had said, “I don’t know if it’s brilliant, but I’m humbled. Unlike the first film, the film is challenging because it requires us to shoot in numerous locations.”
The film is a sequel to the 2019 film Lucifer, which saw Mohanlal as a mysterious man called Stephen Nedumpally aka Khureshi-Ab’raam. When a major political leader dies, his character steps in to right the wrongs. The sequel is touted to reveal more about his character, hints of which were dropped in the first part.
Prithviraj had also directed Mohanlal in Bro Daddy, a comedy film he also starred in. Prithviraj was last seen in Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. He will soon be seen in Salaar: Part 2 – Shouryanga Parvam. Mohanlal will star in Barroz, Thudarum and Kannappa.

In this automotive ad, Sunidhi Chauhan uses her fiery voice to recreate Nazia Hassan’s Boom Boom.
Sunidhi Chauhan reinvents Nazia Hassan’s Boom Boom with her fiery voice in this car commercial. Watch
Sunidhi Chauhan’s voice is a tour de force in a recent automobile advertisement, in which she gives her own spin to Nazia Hassan’s vintage track Boom Boom.
If there’s one contemporary singer who could honour late legendary vocalist Nazia Hassan by recreating her disco songs, it’s Sunidhi Chauhan. In a recent car commercial, Sunidhi reinvents Nazia’s iconic 1982 track Boom Boom in her signature firery style. (Also Read: Sunidhi Chauhan reveals she assisted Imtiaz Ali on the set of Tamasha, was even mistaken for her own doppelganger)
Boom Boom in new car commercial
In a new commercial, one can hear Sunidhi’s distant echo and a familiar tune at the start. It’s when the female actor gets hold of the steering and hits the accelerator that Sunidhi’s rendition of Boom Boom becomes amply clear. While Nazia had a classic restraint in the original song from her album, Sunidhi make the track her own with her power-packed vocals. At the end of the commercial, we even spot actor Rahul Khanna, smiling at the female actor from a distance during a shoot.
There’s another commercial that features Rahul for the most part, in which a male singer renders a recreated English version of Boom Boom. There’s an English version sung by Sunidhi as well, but it pales in comparison to her rendition of the Hindi one.
The internet was bowled over by her recreation. An Instagram user commented, “Sunidhi voice (fire emojis).” Another wrote, “Amazing choice of 90 hot pop song for the new Breed of Indian EV’s whose gonna dominate the Globe for sure. (red heart and fire emojis).” “Where to get this song in her voice,” read a third comment, while a fourth one stated on similar lines, “They need to release this version of the song.”
Not Sunidhi’s first recreation of Nazia song
Boom Boom isn’t the first Nazia Hassan song that Sunidhi has recreated. She briefly sang the late Pakistani singer’s 1981 hit Disco Deewane, which Nazia sang with her brother Zohaib Hassan. Disco Deewane was recreated by Vishal-Shekhar for a crucial dance sequence in Karan Johar’s 2012 campus caper Student of the Year. While Nazia’s voice was retained for the chorus, Sunidhi stepped in to sing the ‘Disco Deewane’ hook line for Kajol’s cameo in the track.
