Elton John Tells Noel Gallagher What He Thinks About His New Album
Struggling to sell one multi-million dollar home currently on the market won’t stop actress and singer Jennifer Lopez from expanding her property collection. Lopez has reportedly added to her real estate holdings an eight-plus acre estate in Bel-Air anchored by a multi-level mansion.
The property, complete with a 30-seat screening room, a 100-seat amphitheater and a swimming pond with sandy beach and outdoor shower, was asking about $40 million, but J. Lo managed to make it hers for $28 million. As the Bronx native acquires a new home in California, she is trying to sell a gated compound.
Black farmers in the US’s South— faced with continued failure their efforts to run successful farms their launched a lawsuit claiming that “white racism” is to blame for their inability to the produce crop yields and on equivalent to that switched seeds.
What Will Be The Next Step to Complete?
The “new ’20s” idea might not work—there were a lot more young people in the United States then than now; a reprise of the world-changing inventions and discoveries of the 1920s would be a big surprise to those economists who believe that we have been in an invention dry spell since the 1970s. In his Businessweek piece, Peter Coy largely agrees, writing, “In all probability … the U.S. will continue to wrestle with ‘secular
These experts make strong cases, and they satisfy my natural instinct not to go there. But I remain very interested in the reasons the ’20s appeal to our imagination right now. Of course, it’s the booze, the sex, and the parties. But it’s also a decade with a very strong identity—and I think that helps. Writing in the journal American Speech in 1951, Mamie J. Meredith argued that the ’20s boasted.
I’d argue that Meredith’s point about the decade’s exceptionality still holds: How many other 20th century decades have a nice little permanent descriptor like Roaring? It helps that most of these are good adjectives, evoking a time you’d probably like to live through again—but even the slightly dangerous-sounding ones conjure up something specific. That definiteness offers an appealing sense
Anyway, let’s get to that fun. A very joyful book to read about the decade is Frederick Lewis Allen’s Only Yesterday: An Informal History of the 1920s, which Allen—a blueblood journalist and editor at Harper’s—published in 1931. The book chronicles all of the movement and motion that makes the decade sexy, and doesn’t seem to miss a fad.

A designer knows he has achieved perfection not when there is nothing left to add, but when there is nothing left to take away.
Allen is also really good at describing parties—or, at least, the ones the middle class and upper class attended. The historian wrote about how women taking up smoking had “strewed the dinner table with their ashes, snatched a puff between the acts, invaded the masculine sanctity of the club car.

Perhaps by remembering the twenties merely as an enchanting series of novelties or the crude afterthought of a simpler past, we preserve the illusion of our own simple innocence,” mused historian Paula Fass in the introduction to her book The Damned and the Beautiful: American Youth in the 1920s.

Hitting a rough note
The #ShameOnMTVHUSTLE trend surfaced on Monday with several users coming together to support comedian Rohan Cariappa. It all started when Rohan took to his Instagram Stories to claim that his YouTube channel was getting shut.
“50 plus strikes,” he wrote in one story along with a screen recording of the strikes on his videos about the show. In another story, he wrote, “The channel shuts down on the 7th … Killswitch aur Danish ke baad mera bhi elimination ho raha hai (I have been eliminated after Killswitch and Danish).” Danish and Killswitch were contestants of the show.
It is being said that Rohan criticised the show through his videos.
Outrage on social media
After his posts on Instagram, a controversy erupted on social media, with the hashtag #ShameOnMTVHUSTLE gaining momentum. The outrage stemmed from allegations that MTV shut down the YouTube channel of a comedian over a joke made about the show.
Fans and supporters of the comedian have taken to social media to express their discontent, with many calling out MTV for its alleged actions.
“MTV has given more than 50 strikes to Rohan Cariappa’s YouTube channel and his channel is being terminated – just because the makers couldn’t handle some honest criticism! Shame on MTV,” read one tweet, with another writing, “MTV Hustle tried to take down Rohan Cariappa’s YouTube channel. These companies profit from the culture and then start thinking of themselves as superior. Rohan’s contribution to the Desi Hip-Hop is far greater than that of these money makers”.
One user wrote, “Whole dhh community stands with @cariappa_rohan We won’t let that fake show destroy Dhh #shameonmtvhustle”.
One user mentioned, “MTV Hustle is playing cheap games now. They’ve started sending bots. You run a hip-hop show, but you’re doing things that go against the spirit of hip-hop. This will not be tolerated”, with one user mentioning, “@cariappa_rohan’s videos ASAP! #ShameonMTVHustle This is so sad #ShameonMTVHustle They don’t even know how much his channel has contributed to the hip-hop scene in India”.
There was one comment which condemned the gesture of silencing the “criticism by undermining them will only result in more harm for your show”. “The DHH community deserves better, @cariappa_rohan you deserve better. Silent protest,” read the tweet.
“Stupid of these @MTVIndia pple to think they could just suppress anyone says something & they think they can capture the DHH audience this way? Shameful and stupid act,” shared one user.
Another user called out the channel, writing, “I’m a regular Jio cinema/MTV hustle subscriber and viewer, but after seeing them pulling this shit to a content creator I have decided to cancel my subscription, they have proven that they are culture vultures who are only here for profits. MTV Hustle gave a copyright strikes on @cariappa_rohan,This is unacceptable, shameful and against the DHH community”.

What Shalini said
“This is a question that I’ve been asking everybody: Why am a I born here? What is my purpose? As a human being, you do your best. My entire acting fee actually goes to a village through UNICEF in Bihar. Everything that I do, all my earnings go to charity. I work diligently with them,” Shalini said.
“Beyond that also, I’ve been trying to create a show about women’s voices, and another one representing Indian culture. However, I have often received feedback that there’s not enough audience to watch these shows. I am ready to show India its culture, the power of women, but the audiences have to be ready. It’s just not about my time, it’s about production and the cost as well,” she added.

Tusshar Kapoor: OTT has typecast me.
Tusshar Kapoor: I have been typecast on OTT
Actor Tusshar Kapoor talks about being typecast in comedic roles, the pros and cons of theatrical and OTT releases, and more.
Actor Tusshar Kapoor says that while OTT [over-the-top] streaming platforms are giving actors the opportunity to take up unique projects, they have mostly typecast him. “I feel I’ve mostly been given comedic roles on OTT. That is because of the little bit of typecasting that has happened to me. I think the trend among producers and directors has been to cast me in comedic roles and that is something I cannot control ,” says the 48-year-old, whose latest project—the second season of Dus June Ki Raat Chapter 1—released earlier this month.
In the comedy-thriller series Tusshar plays Panauti, a hapless man on a mission to reopen his late father’s theatre, whose journey with cousin Battu is filled with misadventures, colorful characters, and endless laughs.
Previously, Tusshar has appeared in two web shows, Booo Sabki Phategi (2019) and Pop Kaun? (2023), both of which featured him in comedic roles.
Asked why he thinks he has been typecast and he says, “It’s not something that I planned. It just happened based on the perceptions of the industry.”
‘No Regrets’
Even though he feels typecast, he does not regret it, says the actor. “If that’s what gets you work then that’s what gets you work. There are pros and cons to it. I have no regrets because I have been fortunate to have a variety of roles (in films).”
Tusshar believes that his casting in comedic roles is “just a phase”. “It keeps evolving. You go through cycles and I enjoy each phase. If people like me in a certain type of role, I’m okay with that. No regrets,” says the actor.
‘Films are my bread and butter’
Despite considerable success on OTT, Tusshar says he still prefers doing films. “Films are my bread and butter. They will always be my first love. But OTT is a great addition to my body of work. It offers enriching opportunities, and it’s another feather on the cap. However, I wouldn’t trade movies for OTT. Movies will always be my top priority,” he shares.
This, according to Tusshar, is because, “The validation in films is on another level.”
He further says, “[In films] you get a clear idea about what the box office numbers are. You can go to the theatre and feel the audience’s reaction. You get a direct sense of success or failure. With OTT, there are all kinds of reactions floating around, and sometimes it’s hard to know what to believe. Additionally, you don’t usually know the exact numbers unless the platform reveals them.”
However, he notes that even though there’s “no clarity on success” on OTT, the stress is less. “You don’t have to compete with other movies in the same way. The platform will give your show its space, and you don’t have that stress of screen competition. Both have their pros and cons,” he wraps up.
