After Russian missiles hit the grid in Kyiv, a lengthy cut-off notice was issued to residents. The notice stated that due to the extensive damage caused by the missiles, it would take several weeks to repair the grid. In the meantime, residents were advised to use alternative sources of energy.

Residents crammed into underground metro stations after air raid sirens rang out in the morning. One resident said she saw a rocket in the sky and had to go to the tube to escape.

It warned it could take longer to restore supplies than after previous attacks due to damage caused by the conflict in eastern Ukraine.
