As the world continues to grapple with the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, airports have been forced to adapt in order to keep both travellers and staff safe. One of the latest measures being implemented is the testing of foreign travellers for COVID-19.

Starting from next week, all foreign travellers arriving at airports in the United Arab Emirates will be randomly selected for a COVID-19 test. This is in addition to the existing measures such as temperature checks and the wearing of face masks.

The testing will be carried out by medical staff at the airport and the results will be available within a few hours. Those who test positive for the virus will be required to quarantine for 14 days.

This is a welcome measure that will help to prevent the spread of the virus. However, it is important to remember that no measure is 100% effective and that everyone must continue to take precautions such as washing their hands and maintaining social distancing.
