Army helicopter Cheetah crashes in Arunachal, search on for 2 missing pilots

An Indian Army helicopter Cheetah has crashed in Arunachal Pradesh on Tuesday. The search is on for the two missing pilots.

The helicopter took off from Tawang helipad at around 9.50 am for a routine sortie. It lost contact with the ground control soon after and crashed in a remote location in the hilly terrain.

The Indian Army has pressed into service a search and rescue team to locate the missing pilots. The cause of the crash is not known yet and an investigation has been ordered.

The Cheetah helicopter is a light utility helicopter manufactured by HAL. It is used for reconnaissance, troop transport and medical evacuation missions.
