Bangladesh spinner Taijul Islam made the brave statement, “Dismissing Virat Kohli not my career highlight.”
It takes a lot of guts to make a statement like that, and even more to back it up. But that’s exactly what Taijul Islam did when he dismissed Indian captain Virat Kohli for a duck in the one-off Test match between Bangladesh and India.
It was a big moment in the match, and one that Taijul will always remember. But for him, it’s not the biggest moment of his career. That’s because, as he said, “Dismissing Virat Kohli is not my career highlight.”
What an incredible attitude to have! Taijul is clearly not content with just one big scalp. He wants to keep getting better and better, and he wants to keep taking wickets at the highest level.
We can all learn a lot from Taijul’s attitude. When we achieve something great, it’s easy to be content and think that we’ve made it. But the best athletes are always looking to improve and get better. That’s what makes them the best.
