The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has filed charges in a case involving its former director Ranjit Sinha. The charges relate to Sinha’s alleged involvement in a conspiracy to defraud the Indian government. If convicted, Sinha faces up to 10 years in prison.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has filed a charge sheet in its 2017 probe. It relates to allegations that its former director met some of the accused in a coal block allocation case, aiming to “scuttle” or “influence” the cases.
