Petrol and diesel prices remain unchanged in India, with petrol priced at ₹96.72 and ₹89.62 per litre respectively. Petrol and diesel prices in Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, and Kolkata were highest, with petrol and diesel at ₹106.03 per litre and ₹94.27 per litre respectively.

Fuel prices in India are determined by top oil companies, not the government, and are controlled by excise duty, base prices and cap prices. VAT is different for each state, with Rajasthan having the highest, followed by Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra.
