Congressman passes away following a heart attack while on the Bharat Jodo Yatra

Santokh Singh Chaudhary, a Jalandhar-based Congressman, passed away on Saturday after a heart arrest that occurred when he was travelling in Punjab with Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra. He was 76. Partap Singh Bajwa, the leader of the opposition in the Punjab legislature, claimed that Chaudhary collapsed while strolling alongside a colleague MP from Kerala.

He had a severe heart arrest, according to Bajwa.

After experiencing a heart attack, Chaudhary was taken by ambulance to the Phagwara civil hospital.

President of the Congress Mallikarjun Kharge expressed sorrow and grief over Chaudhary’s passing, calling it a “huge blow to the party and organisation.”
