As India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi returned to his home state of Gujarat today, he said that the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ – a nationwide tour to connect the country – was a ‘yatra for power.’

“The Bharat Jodo Yatra is a yatra for power. It is to take the power of the Constitution and the democracy to the people,” he said.

Modi also said that the yatra would help in the ‘empowerment of the people and the participation of the people in the Constitution.’

The Prime Minister’s remarks come as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is gearing up for the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

In other news, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced that the Class 10 and 12 board exams will be held from February 15 to March 30, 2019.
