Your brain is your most important organ. It controls everything from your thoughts to your movements. So it’s no surprise that you want to keep it healthy and protected.

According to new research, one way to do that is to make sure you have enough subcutaneous fat.

Subcutaneous fat is the type of fat that lies just under your skin. It’s different from the visceral fat that surrounds your organs.

The new study, published in the journal Neurology, found that women with more subcutaneous fat were less likely to experience cognitive decline.

Researchers looked at data from over 3,000 women who were part of the Women’s Health Initiative Memory Study. They found that the women with the most subcutaneous fat were 32% less likely to experience cognitive decline than the women with the least amount of fat.

The study didn’t find the same protective effect in men. But the researchers say that’s likely because men generally have less subcutaneous fat than women.

So if you’re looking for a way to keep your brain healthy, make sure you’re getting enough subcutaneous fat. It might just be the shield your brain needs.
