Following rumours of fighting, China declares the border with India to be “stable.”

On Tuesday, China’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Zhao Lijian held a press conference in Beijing, where he addressed recent rumours of fighting between Chinese and Indian soldiers at the border. While Zhao did not confirm or deny the rumours, he did declare that the border between the two countries is “stable.”

This comes as a relief to many, as tensions have been high between China and India since the Doklam standoff in 2017. In recent months, there have been a number of reports of Chinese troops crossing into Indian territory, which has led to a build-up of Indian troops in the area.

However, it seems that for now, the border between China and India is peaceful. Let’s hope that it stays that way.
