Google has decided to remove several apps from the Play Store, including popular matrimony platforms.

IAMAI has advised Google against removing Indian apps from the Play Store due to alleged non-compliance with its payments policy, following Google’s decision to remove multiple apps, including popular matrimony apps.

The Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI) has confirmed that four of its members have received notices from Google regarding a billing dispute and has urged the tech giant not to delist any apps from the Play Store.

IAMAI members believe a substantive hearing is pending before the Supreme Court of India, and Google should not take coercive action during this period.

Google has reported that several established companies have refused to pay a service fee, which is applicable to platforms that sell digital goods in-app, despite multiple warnings.

Google has stated that it will take all necessary actions to enforce policies, including removing non-compliant apps from Google Play.

Google removed matrimonial apps like Shaadi, Matrimony.com, and Bharat Matrimony from its app store, while other apps like Balaji Telefilms’ Altt, Kuku FM, Quack Quack, and Truly Madly disappeared from the app store, without naming any of the removed ones.
