Guest teacher arrested for beating Class 4 student to death, say police
A guest teacher in India was arrested on Wednesday after allegedly beating a Class 4 student to death, police said.
The teacher, identified as Rakesh Kumar, was teaching at a government school in Uttar Pradesh’s Muzaffarnagar district when the incident took place, police officer Ajay Sahni told CNN.
The student, identified as Ravi, was beaten with a stick by Kumar after he failed to answer a question correctly, Sahni said.
Ravi was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival, Sahni said.
Kumar has been arrested and charged with murder, Sahni said. An investigation into the matter is going on.
