Hacking of Stan Swamy’s PC and the planting of documents in the Bhima Koregaon case: new research

On the morning of August 28, 2018, 83-year-old Stan Swamy, a Jesuit priest and human rights activist, woke up to find that his computer had been hacked. Documents related to the Bhima Koregaon case, in which Swamy is a accused, were planted on his computer in an attempt to frame him.

Swamy has been working with the Adivasis in the Bhima Koregaon area for decades, and has been vocal in his criticism of the government’s treatment of Adivasis. The Bhima Koregaon case is a complicated one, and Swamy’s involvement in it is still not clear. However, it is clear that someone is trying to silence him and discredit his work.

Swamy is not the only one who has been targeted in this way. Several other activists and lawyers involved in the Bhima Koregaon case have also had their computers hacked and documents planted on them. This is a clear attempt to intimidate those who are fighting for justice in this case.

The government must be held accountable for this blatant attack on our fundamental rights. We cannot allow our activists to be silenced in this way.
