Imran Khan’s party is facing some serious trouble. The electoral board has decided to remove Khan’s party’s chairmanship. This is a big blow to the party, and it will be interesting to see how they respond.

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has filed a case against Imran Khan for allegedly selling gifts he received as prime minister. Khan is accused of buying expensive gifts at discount and selling them for profit. He was disqualified from office for making “false statements and incorrect declaration”.

PTI officials say no law bars a convict from becoming an office-bearer of a political party. Officials in the government are required to report any gifts they receive, but don’t have to disclose the full value. The gifts are sent to the Toshakhana or treasury for valuation before being allowed to keep them.
