In a money laundering case, the ED has taken Mukhtar Ansari into custody. Ansari is a known politician with ties to organized crime. The ED is hoping to get information from Ansari that will help them investigate and prosecute other members of his criminal network.
The Prayagraj unit of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) took custody remand of Mukhtar Ansari in connection with a money laundering case lodged against him last year. A local court had issued warrant B against Muktar Ansari, who was lodged in Banda jail, in Mumbai.
