According to Ajay Bhatt, state minister for defence, the army had the most open positions (118,485), followed by the navy (11,587) and the air force (5,819) during the current winter session of the Parliament.
According to ministry records, 40,000 openings for JCOs/OR in the army, 3,000 for Agniveer in the navy, and 3,000 for Agniveervayu in the air force have been advertised. The minister informed the House in an official statement that the Agniveers will receive a customised package worth 30,000 per month with a fixed yearly increment.
