In response to Chinese aggressiveness, the IAF scrambled jets 2-3 times in recent weeks: Report

In recent weeks, the Indian Air Force (IAF) has scrambled jets in response to Chinese aggressiveness 2-3 times, according to a report. The report comes amid heightened tensions between India and China in the wake of the Galwan Valley clash, in which 20 Indian soldiers were killed.

The IAF has been on high alert since the Galwan Valley clash, and has been carrying out sorties along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh. In addition to the IAF, the Indian Army has also deployed additional troops and heavy weapons in the region.

The increased Chinese aggressiveness has been witnessed in different parts of the LAC, including the Pangong Tso lake area and the Depsang Plains. In response to the Chinese actions, the IAF has scrambled jets on at least 2-3 occasions in recent weeks, sources told Hindustan Times.

The IAF has also beefed up its presence in the region by deploying additional Sukhoi-30MKI fighter jets and Apache attack helicopters. The Sukhoi-30MKI is a long-range multi-role fighter jet, while the Apache is a highly-advanced attack helicopter.
