In response to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s statement that he never addressed “Muslims” in his contentious “infiltrators” comment last month, AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi responded on Wednesday, saying that the BJP stalwart’s whole political career was built on “anti-Muslim politics.”

One of the BJP government’s most vocal opponents, Asaduddin Owaisi, asserted that during the Lok Sabha election campaign, PM Modi “spread countless lies and immense hatred against Muslims.” He called PM Modi’s explanation “misleading.”

The Member of Parliament from Hyderabad also criticised people who support the BJP even after hearing Prime Minister Narendra Modi speak.

“Modi had referred to Muslims in his address as infiltrators and over-childbearing individuals. He now claims that he never discussed Muslims and was never Hindu-Muslim. Why was this bogus explanation provided after such a lengthy delay? The only foundation of Modi’s political career has been anti-Muslim sentiment. Modi and the BJP have stoked great animosity and disinformation against Muslims in this election. Asaduddin Owaisi commented on X, “Every voter who supported the BJP in spite of these comments is in the dock, not only Modi.

PM Modi stirred much controversy last month when he said that the Congress intended to divide the nation’s riches to people “who have more children and infiltrators” during a rally in Banswara, Rajasthan.

In an interview with News18 yesterday, Prime Minister Modi insisted that he wasn’t specifically speaking about Muslims. He claimed to be speaking for all low-income families in the nation.

I’m taken aback. Who informed you that the assumption is that Muslims are those who have more children when they are discussed? Why do you treat Muslims with such injustice? This is also the case for low-income households. Regardless of their socioeconomic circle, there are more children in areas of poverty. I made no mention of Muslims or Hindus. As I’ve previously stated, a person should have as many children as they are able to raise. “Avoid putting yourself in a position where the state must look after your kids,” the prime minister said.

After the Godhra riots in 2002, PM Modi further asserted that his opponents had attempted to damage his reputation among Muslims.

He threatened to revoke his permission to appear in public if he “started doing Hindu-Muslim.” He declared that he would never practise Hinduism or Islam.

The Election Commission received a protest from the Congress on Modi’s “deeply objectionable” statements. JP Nadda, the national head of the BJP, was contacted by the commission regarding the allegation.
