Congress invites Vadra to contest Lok Sabha elections in Telangana. Congress has identified Medak or Mahboobnagar Lok Sabha as potential options. Medak Lok Sabha constituency is important for the Gandhi family, as it was the constituency of Indira Gandhi during the 1980 elections. Priyanka Gandhi is now managing the Congress party’s affairs in Telangana and will be involved in the upcoming assembly elections. Priyanka Gandhi could contest from Mahboobnagar to gain more Lok Sabha seats in the state. Medak district is seen as a stronghold for BRS, winning seven assembly constituencies in 2014 and six in 2018.

Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi are expected to lead the Congress campaign in Telangana, with the Lok Sabha elections scheduled soon after.
