Raghuram Rajan is an economist and former governor of the Reserve Bank of India. He is currently a Distinguished Service Professor of Finance at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Raghuram Rajan was born on 3 February 1963, in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, India. He completed his schooling in Delhi and graduated from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, in 1985. He then went on to get a post-graduate degree in management from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. After working for a few years in the Indian government, he pursued his Ph.D. in economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

In an interview with Rahul Gandhi, Raghuram Rajan talked about the Indian economy. He said, “We would be lucky if we grow at 6%. With all the headwinds that we face, it is going to be a tough slog.”

Rajan also said that the government needs to focus on creating more jobs. He said, “If you don’t have enough jobs, you’re going to have social unrest. That’s something we need to pay attention to.”
