Kanjhawala horror: 11 Delhi police officers suspended per directive from the Centre

Kanjhawala horror

According to a senior police source on Friday, the Delhi Police has suspended 11 employees who were on duty in PCR vans and at pickets in Rohini area at the time of the horrible Sultanpuri-Kanjhawala hit-and-run event.

The 20-year-old woman was killed in the nation’s capital that night after her scooter was struck by a car and she was dragged by the vehicle for 10 to 12 kilometres. The ministry of home affairs (MHA) on Friday ordered the Delhi Police to suspend all the personnel posted at three PCR vans and two pickets on that night.

11 police officers from the Rohini district who were stationed at PCRs and pickets along the road had their deployments approved by the appropriate authorities, the police officer said. This was done in light of the Sultanpuri incident.

Aside from that, according to officials, the MHA instructed the city police to issue show-cause warnings to the supervising officers of the PCR vans and police pickets for allegedly failing to perform their duties.
