Indian-origin Penguin Random House names temporary CEO Nihar Malaviya

Penguin Random House has named Nihar Malaviya as its temporary CEO. Malaviya, who is of Indian origin, will be taking over for outgoing CEO Markus Dohle.

Malaviya has been with the company for over 20 years, and most recently served as its Chief Operating Officer. In this role, she was responsible for the company’s day-to-day operations, as well as its long-term strategy.

Under her leadership, Penguin Random House has seen significant growth. The company has acquired several new imprints, and its revenues have increased by double digits.
