The Jaiprakash Group is planning to sell its cement and power facilities to the Dalmia Group for Rs. 5,666 billion. This move will help the Jaiprakash Group reduce its debt burden and focus on its core businesses. The sale is expected to be completed by the end of this fiscal year.
Jaiprakash Associates is selling its cement, clinker and power plants to Dalmia Cements. The sale will give Dalmia additional cement capacity of 9.4 million tonnes (mt), along with clinker capacity of 6.7 mt and thermal power capacity amounting to 280 Mw.
