Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, draws visitors with helicopter excursions across sand dunes.
The service that is an initiative of the Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation (RTDC) will be rolled out across the state over the next two months.
The pilot service has been started from Samdhani, Jaisalmer and will be expanded to other tourist destinations. There is an ambitious plan to make a tourism circuit by connecting other tourist places of the state through the service. Religious, wildlife and heritage places will be added to this circuit.
The joyride service will be provided to about 200 tourists through a maximum of 40 flights per day. Minimum ticket rate for a helicopter joyride has been kept at ₹7,000 per tourist. The joyride will be available in two slot packages of 5 minutes and 15 minutes.
