Kerala High Court holds special session regarding Sabarimala influx
The Kerala High Court today held a special session to discuss the recent influx of devotees to the Sabarimala temple. The court was hearing a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by a group of devotees who claimed that the recent surge in devotees was due to the temple being opened for a special puja.
The court observed that the temple authorities had not taken any measures to control the influx of devotees and that this was causing a lot of inconvenience to the local residents. The court directed the temple authorities to take measures to control the inflow of devotees and to ensure that the temple is not overcrowded.
The court also directed the state government to provide adequate security to the temple and to ensure that the temple is not damaged by the influx of devotees. The government has been directed to provide adequate medical facilities and to deploy adequate police personnel to control the crowd.
