“Letter to Election Commission”: NCW requests that Supriya Shrinate be held accountable for her post on Kangana Ranaut.

Kangana Ranaut, a Lok Sabha poll candidate for the BJP from Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, was targeted by an offensive post on the Congress leader’s Instagram.

The National Commission for Women has urged the Election Commission of India for strict action against Congress spokesperson Supriya Shrinate and party leader HS Ahir for their derogatory social media posts against Kangana Ranaut.

NCW is condemning the unacceptable behavior of Ms. Supriya Shrinate and Mr. HS Ahir, stating that it goes against women’s dignity. NCW chief Rekha Sharma has sent a letter to ECI, urging for immediate action and respect for all women.

Sharma praised Kangana for her strength and determination, expressing her gratitude to Shrinate for his comments on Ranaut and writing to ECI.

A controversy erupted on Monday after Congress social media handle Shrinate targeted Ranaut’s candidature for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls on Instagram.

A post asking for the current market rate of an actor from the Mandi Lok Sabha constituency in Himachal Pradesh, India, was posted alongside a picture of the actor, who is fielded by the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party.

Former journalist Shrinate revealed that her Facebook and Instagram accounts were accessed by many people, leading to an inappropriate post that has since been deleted.

In a video statement, she clarified that she is prohibited from making personal or indecent comments towards any woman and is seeking to understand the circumstances surrounding this incident.

Ahir, a Gujarat-based Congress leader, provided a similar explanation.

A user who had access to their X accounts posted a disgusting and objectionable post on a social media platform.

The BJP has requested Congress to take action on the matter, but no response has been received from the party or its senior leaders.
