Mahua Moitra has been renominated by her party for West Bengal’s Krishnanagar seat in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.

TMC leader Mahua Moitra plans to campaign in her Krishnanagar constituency on Thursday, ignoring a summons from the Enforcement Directorate for questioning at the ED office in New Delhi.

The Enforcement Directorate has summoned Moitra and Dubai-based businessman Darshan Hiranandani for questioning in a FEMA contravention case.

The 49-year-old Trinamool Congress leader was summoned for questioning twice, but refused to appear due to official work and requested deferment of the notice.

Moitra, expelled from the Lok Sabha in December for unethical conduct, has been renominated by her party for West Bengal’s Krishnanagar seat in the upcoming elections.

The CBI conducted a raid on her premises in connection with the cash-for-query case, following Lokpal’s directive for the agency to investigate allegations against her by BJP MP Nishikant Dubey.
