Meta closes its Connectivity business and intends to divide the segment among teams
Meta, the AR startup that’s best known for its Meta 2 development kit, is shutting down its Connectivity business. The Connectivity business is the team responsible for the company’s wireless products, including the Meta 2 development kit.
The Connectivity business will be divided among Meta’s other teams, and the employees will be reassigned to different parts of the company. Meta says that the decision to shut down the Connectivity business was made because it’s not a core part of the company’s mission.
The Meta 2 development kit will continue to be supported, but it’s not clear what will happen to the wireless products that are currently in development. It’s also not clear what will happen to the team members who are being reassigned to different parts of the company.
