Microsoft professes to be unaware of the unique qualities of the “Call of Duty” franchise.

It’s been a little over a week since Microsoft announced that it would be acquiring Bethesda for $7.5 billion, and in that time, there’s been a lot of speculation about what this means for the future of the Xbox. One of the most common questions is whether or not Microsoft will now start exclusive Bethesda games to the Xbox platform, which could potentially hurt the PlayStation’s chances of getting big Bethesda releases like Fallout and Elder Scrolls.

In an interview with Kotaku, Xbox head Phil Spencer said that Microsoft is well aware of the unique qualities of the “Call of Duty” franchise and that they have no intention of making any changes to the way the series is currently handled.

“We have a pretty long-standing relationship with Activision around ‘Call of Duty’,” Spencer said. “I don’t want to get into all the details of our relationship, but we have a relationship where ‘Call of Duty’ comes to our platforms. And that’s something that we both value a lot. We have a lot of respect for them as a development studio and their approach.”

He went on to say that Microsoft has no plans to make any changes to the way Bethesda games are released.
