In the 2011 World Cup final, MS Dhoni famously said to batting partner Yuvraj Singh, “You don’t rush, achieve your century.” He was referring to the fact that they needed to take their time and not go for big shots in order to ensure that India won the match.
Fast forward to 2020, and Dhoni’s former teammate, Gautam Gambhir, has recalled that moment in an interview with The Indian Express. Gambhir said that he would have taken a risk if he was in Dhoni’s position, because “when you’re playing for the country, you got to take that call.”
