Negative effects of Covishield: medical association requests government assessment of all Covid shots

Following the admission by the multinational pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca in a UK court that, in rare circumstances, their Covid vaccination might result in blood clots, a group of physicians on Thursday voiced serious concerns about the safety of the Covishield vaccine, which is produced by the Serum Institute of India.

Little did most people know that the COVID-19 vaccinations were being given out before phase-3 studies were finished.

The doctors called for the government to review the science underlying all Covid vaccines, audit their commercialization, and implement active surveillance and monitoring mechanisms in order to ensure that vaccine adverse events are detected as soon as possible. They were speaking at a press conference on behalf of the Awaken India Movement (AIM).

Dr. Tarun Kothari, a radiologist and activist, said at the press conference, “The government has wholly ignored the rising number of cases of tragic deaths post-Covid vaccination all along and continues to promote Covid vaccines as’safe and effective’, without scientific investigation and invoking epidemiology.”

Thrombosis with Thrombocytopenia Syndrome (TTS), a side effect of the Covid vaccination, is becoming more well known, he added.

Little did most people know that the COVID-19 vaccinations were being given out before phase-3 studies were finished. As to Dr. Sujata Mittal, a gynaecologist and oncologist, the COVID-19 vaccination was administered without full information and data from the makers regarding potential short- or long-term adverse effects, including deaths.

She said that there is currently little knowledge on vaccine-related injuries, particularly in India.

She said that thousands of women experienced irregular menstrual cycles, which were ultimately identified as a vaccination adverse effect in a September 2022 research.

Since the start of the vaccine in 2021, the Awaken India Movement (AIM) has been gathering information on Covid Vaccine deaths reported in Indian media and social media and sharing it with the nation’s senior authorities. Dr. Kothari stated, “The government has not complied with our repeated demands to look into vaccination-related fatalities and disabilities.

The AIM encouraged the Indian government to establish a process that includes vaccine makers in order to recompense all victims of Covid vaccinations, including their family members.

“We also demand establishing fast track courts and vaccine courts to provide swift justice to the vaccine injured and their families,” stated Dr. Mittal.

In order to save lives, she added, early treatment methods need to be developed and extensively disseminated, as well as active surveillance and monitoring systems to guarantee that vaccination adverse effects are detected as soon as feasible.

“Review science behind all Covid vaccines and audit their commercialisation,” stated Dr. Kothari.

Days after admitting to unusual adverse effects of blood clotting and decrease of platelet counts, the UK-based AstraZeneca has begun a global withdrawal of its COVID-19 vaccine, which was supplied in India as ‘Covishield’ in collaboration with the Serum Institute of India.

The corporation stated in a statement that the withdrawal was brought about by an abundance of improved vaccinations that have been available since the epidemic.

Serum Institute of India, a partner of the firm, stated that it has ceased producing and supplying extra doses of Covishield since December 2021. It also reiterated that all extremely uncommon to rare adverse effects, including TTS, have been reported in the box insert in 2021.
