No female chief judge at any of the nation’s top courts: Federal to Parliament

The top courts in the nation do not have a female chief judge. This is despite the fact that women have made up a majority of law school graduates for over three decades. The lack of female representation at the top level of the judiciary is a problem that needs to be addressed.

There are a number of possible explanations for the lack of female chief judges. One is that the pool of potential candidates is simply too small. With only a handful of women on the bench, the odds of one of them being appointed to the top court are slim. Another explanation is that the judiciary is a male-dominated institution, and that the old boys’ network is still alive and well. This means that women are not being promoted to the top positions, and that they are not being given the same opportunities as their male counterparts.

The lack of female representation in the judiciary is a problem that needs to be addressed. There are a number of talented women on the bench, and they should be given the opportunity to lead the country’s top courts.
