Congress MP Nakul Nath denied rumors of his father, Kamal Nath, joining the Bharatiya Janata Party ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, a move that intensified speculations following several Congress leaders in Madhya Pradesh’s switch.

The next one to one and a half months will see the holding of Lok Sabha elections. Many BJP members are spreading rumors that me and Kamal Nath are joining the party. At a public gathering in Navegaon, in the district of Chhindwara, Nakul Nath declared, “Let me be clear that neither Kamal Nath nor Nakul Nath are going to join the BJP.”

Following the Congress’s dismal showing in the Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections, Kamal Nath was ousted from his position as PCC chief.

Kamal Nath dismissed speculations about him joining the BJP, stating that there is no indication from his mouth and no other sources. He urged the media to refute the news before making any decisions.

Kamal Nath launched a public contact programme to support his son Rahul Gandhi ahead of the general elections, stating he would not impose himself and was prepared to step aside if desired.

Kamal Nath, a prominent figure in the Kamal Nath family, expressed his willingness to bid farewell to Congress in a recent program in Chaurai Assembly Constituency. The BJP secured 28 out of 29 Lok Sabha seats in the last elections, with Congress retaining only Chhindwara.
