Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to veteran Odisha chief minister Biju Patnaik on his 108th birth anniversary, amid speculations of a pre-poll alliance between the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Biju Janata Dal and calls for Bharat Ratna for Patnaik.

Modi praised Biju Patnaik Ji for his visionary leadership, unwavering commitment to development, and unwavering contributions to the nation on his birth anniversary, highlighting his exemplary spirit and unwavering spirit.

Modi plans to inaugurate projects in Chandikhole and address a BJP public meeting in Odisha.

Naveen Patnaik, the younger son of Odisha Chief Minister Biju Patnaik, praised the former Chief Minister for his blueprint for modern Odisha, which aimed to strengthen development involving all sections of society. He urged the people to remember Patnaik’s contributions and glorify Orthodox nationalism, aiming to strengthen the resolution of forming New Odisha.

Modi’s visit coincides with BJD’s demand to posthumously award Bharat Ratna to Biju Patnaik, the third chief minister of Odisha. BJD leader Prasanna Acharya praised Patnaik’s legendary aviation exploits, including countering Pakistan’s invasion of Jammu and Kashmir in 1947 and escorting Indonesian Prime Minister Sutan Sjahrir and vice-president Mohammad Hatta from Jakarta.
