Type 2 diabetes is a chronic condition that is characterized by high levels of sugar in the blood. The condition can be caused by a number of factors, including obesity, genetics, and a sedentary lifestyle. While the condition is most often diagnosed in adults, it is becoming increasingly common in young people.

According to a new study, the prevalence of type 2 diabetes among young people has increased significantly over the past 30 years. The study, which was conducted by researchers at the University of South Wales, looked at data from over 22,000 people aged 18-30. The findings showed that the prevalence of type 2 diabetes in this age group has increased from 0.1% in 1985 to 0.5% in 2015.

There are a number of reasons why type 2 diabetes is on the rise in young people. One of the most significant factors is the increasing prevalence of obesity. In 1985, only 5% of young people were obese, but by 2015, that number had increased to 20%. Other factors that have contributed to the increase in type 2 diabetes include a lack of physical activity and a diet that is high in sugar and refined carbs.

The rising prevalence of type 2 diabetes among young people is a cause for concern.
