Pak uses terrorist Hafiz Saeed as a pawn in its “war” on terrorism.

Pakistani officials have long maintained that they are committed to fighting terrorism, but their actions often tell a different story. The latest example is their continued support for Hafiz Saeed, the terrorist behind the 2008 Mumbai attacks.

Saeed is the head of the Pakistani terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba, and has a $10 million bounty on his head from the U.S. State Department. Yet, he lives openly in Pakistan, and even led a rally in Karachi just last week.

Pakistan’s support for Saeed is not new. In fact, he was previously arrested and then released by Pakistani authorities on multiple occasions. It’s clear that the Pakistani government is using Saeed as a pawn in its “war” on terrorism.

By continuing to support Saeed, Pakistan is sending a clear message that it is not serious about fighting terrorism. This is not only dangerous for Pakistan, but for the entire region.
