“Please protect yourself,” China says as limitations are removed in response to the Covid spike

As the Covid-19 pandemic continues to surge in China, the government is taking steps to protect its citizens. Starting today, all citizens are required to wear face masks in public, and those who do not comply will be fined. In addition, all public places will be closed for the next two weeks, and only essential businesses will remain open.

These new measures come as a response to a recent spike in Covid-19 cases in China. Over the past week, there have been more than 1,000 new cases reported, with the majority coming from the city of Beijing. This is a sharp increase from the handful of cases that were being reported just a few weeks ago.

The Chinese government is urging all citizens to take these new measures seriously and to protect themselves and others from the virus. With the winter months approaching, they say it is more important than ever to take precautions against Covid-19.
