On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke out against the Opposition’s personal assaults during the Lok Sabha election campaign of 2024, asserting that he is now “gaali proof.”

Prior to the last round of the Lok Sabha elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated in an interview with news agency ANI that opposition parties had grown “so frustrated that now abusing has become their nature.”

“As for Modi, I’ve become ‘gaali proof’ after being mistreated nonstop for the past 24 years. Who called me ‘gandi naali ka keeda’ and’maut ka saudaagar’? In response to a question about personal attacks on him, Modi stated, “Our party member in the parliament did the calculation and counted 101 abuses. So whether there is an election or not, these people (Opposition) believe that only they have the right to abuse and they have become so frustrated that now abusing has become their nature.”

Prior to taking office as prime minister in 2014, Modi served as Gujarat’s chief minister.

In addition, Modi denied claims made by opposition leaders that investigative agencies were being abused to stifle them and stated that his administration has instructed its employees that corruption will not be tolerated.

“Ask the individual discarding this trash, what evidence supports your claims?I’ll turn this trash into manure and use it to make some beneficial things for the nation.During the ten years of Manmohan Singh’s rule, ₹34 lakhs were confiscated, while in the past ten years, the Enforcement Directorate has seized ₹2,200 crores. It is appropriate to show respect rather than mistreat the person who has returned ₹2,200 crores to the nation. The person whose funds have vanished is misusing…It implies that everyone caught participating in money theft will yell a little when apprehended.A Sarpanch can sign a chequebook these days, but the nation’s prime minister is not allowed to.The Modi administration informed its officials that corruption is not tolerated at all by my government,” the PM declared.

According to Modi, the opposition needs to provide evidence for their claims that they have interfered with the central investigation agencies’ ability to carry out their duties. Additionally, he said that the government does not impede the functioning of investigative bodies.

The prime minister said, “It would be better if these people read the Constitution, read the law of the country, I do not need to say anything to anyone,” in response to Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal’s claim that Modi chooses who gets jailed.
