Rahul Gandhi, leader of the Indian National Congress, took a jab at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Twitter. He was referring to a letter written by Mansukh Mandaviya, Minister of State for Chemical and Fertilizers, to Ratan Tata.

In the letter, Mandaviya had asked for Tata’s help in setting up a “world-class” fertilizer plant in Gujarat. He also said that the BJP government was committed to the development of the state.

Rahul Gandhi tweeted, “Excuses, excuses, excuses. The truth is the BJP is scared of India’s truth.” He was referring to the fact that the BJP has been in power for over four years and has not been able to set up the fertilizer plant.

The Congress party has been critical of the BJP government’s handling of the economy and has been accusing the government of not doing enough to create jobs. This is an issue that is likely to come up in the 2019 general elections.
