The animal rights organisation PETA is suing the UK military for allegedly using live animals in training exercises. PETA has also appealed to King Charles III to intervene in the matter.

Animal rights group PETA says it will take legal action against the UK defence ministry over its refusal to test a fake fur version of ceremonial guards’ hats. The tall black hats are worn by the elite regiments, including for the Changing of the Guard ceremony outside Buckingham Palace.

The animal rights group has developed a prototype replacement hat made of shaggy acrylic material.
