The Jagan cabinet increases widow and old-age pensions to 2,750.
The Jagan cabinet in Andhra Pradesh has increased the monthly pension for widows and senior citizens from ₹1,000 to ₹2,750. This is a welcome move that will improve the lives of many people in the state. The increased pension will help widows and senior citizens to meet their basic needs and also provide some financial security.
The decision will benefit 62.31 lakh existing pensioners and 2.43 lakh new pensioners being added to the list of beneficiaries. The additional burden on the state government due to hike in pension would be ₹130.44 crore per month, minister said.
