Tottenham upset by resurgent Villa; Chelsea held at Forest

Tottenham Hotspur’s disappointing start to the season continued on Saturday as they were beaten 2-1 away at Aston Villa. Spurs had taken the lead through an early Heung-Min Son goal, but Villa hit back with goals from Wesley and Anwar El Ghazi to take all three points.

It was a similar story for Chelsea, who were held to a 1-1 draw at Nottingham Forest. The Blues had taken the lead through a Cesar Azpilicueta goal, but were pegged back by a late equaliser from Forest’s Lewis Grabban.

With both Tottenham and Chelsea dropped points, it opens up the race for the top four even more. Liverpool and Manchester City look like they will be fighting it out for the title again, but there are now a number of teams in contention for a Champions League spot. It looks like it could be a long and hard season for Spurs and Chelsea.
