It is with great sadness that we report that two police officers were killed and four others were injured in a patrol attack in Mali. This senseless act of violence has struck the UN mission in Mali, and our thoughts are with the families of the victims. We remain committed to our work in Mali, and will continue to work with the government and people of Mali to build a peaceful and prosperous future for all.

A United Nations police patrol was attacked on December 16 in Timbuktu (northern Mali). Two of our police officers, including a woman, lost their lives, MINUSMA says. Four others were injured, one of them seriously, the mission says.
