This senseless act of violence has struck the UN mission in Mali, and our thoughts are with the families of the victims. A United Nations police patrol was attacked on December 16 in Timbuktu (northern Mali). Two of our police officers, including a woman, lost their lives, MINUSMA says. Four others were injured, one of them seriously, the mission says.
