Udhayanidhi takes over the ministry of sports and youth welfare
Udhayanidhi Stalin, the working president of DMK, has taken over the ministry of sports and youth welfare from Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin.
Udhayanidhi, who is also the treasurer of DMK, assumed the charge of the ministry on Thursday.
The move is seen as a bid by the DMK to woo the youth voters in the state.
Udhayanidhi has been active in the sports scene in Tamil Nadu and has been associated with various sports clubs in the state.
He is also the owner of a football club in the state.
With the Assembly elections in Tamil Nadu due in 2026, the DMK is looking to make inroads into the youth vote bank.
Udhayanidhi’s appointment is seen as a step in that direction.
