On Monday, New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern was caught on a hot mic referring to the opposition leader, Simon Bridges, as an “arrogant prick.” The comment was made during a break in filming for a television interview.

Ardern has since apologised for the comment, saying that it was “unacceptable” and that she “completely understand[s] why people would be offended by it.” Bridges has also responded, saying that the comment was “pretty rich” coming from Ardern.
